Time for Sherlock

Every day I go to use Shifty I'm a little bit apprehensive about what might have been damaged since parking up.

I mean the little scrapes and dents that magically appear. Over several cars we've had quite a bit of damage. One front wing was completely pushed in,  two rear bumpers deeply scored, a badly dented roof from being walked on and two bonnets damaged again from walking on.

Today though Shifty seems to have attracted not the sort of damage caused by tomfoolery or by careless drivers, but a deliberate attempt to break in. Nothing as dramatic as broken glass or a jimmied door. No it's damage from one of those tools designed to slip down between the window glass and the seal, used to catch the mechanism that locks the door and force it to unlock.

Luckily we always deadlock the car when we lock it. So this unlocking technique doesn't work. Also luckily for us whoever it was didn't want to break the glass and climb in.

The thing I don't understand is why?  There is nothing kept in the car. It has an immobiliser so you couldn't start it. We always leave the iShift transmission in gear and you can't select neutral without ignition switched on, so you couldn't move it.

Oh well.  Let's just put it down to the usual occasional odd happening that is just the risk of parking in the street overnight.
